Welcome to the Forever Young Fitness Blog, the one stop blog for all of your fitness needs, questions and resources for the Seasoned Fitness Enthusiast. Before I get into the goal of the blog, let me start off by telling you my story.

I was born and raised in Central California and spent about thirty years in Northern California and as life happens, I found myself back in Central California. I played all sports growing up as a kid and was very athletic but as I reached middle age, all of sudden I wasn’t very athletic anymore and was guilty of portraying the “dad bod”.

Personally, it came to a head for me when my beautiful wife asked me to stop in the city of Modesto on the way back from San Francisco and pick up a barn door that she recently purchased, she is in the furniture refurbishing business and she used the barn door to create an amazing dining room table.

Anyway, I was trying to put the barn door on top of my car and I really struggled to put it on the car, and that is the point where I decided that I needed to get in better shape, I needed to start taking better care of myself working out, eating better, being smarter about the choices I make. Basically, a whole life over haul!!!

I came home and started researching, reading and watching videos on how to get in better shape, how to be healthier and of course how to look better. And what I found was a ton of information, some helpful, a lot useless and not so helpful so and definitely not targeted for a guy my age.

This was the point where the FYFitness Blog was created, I decided there needs to be one place where seasoned fitness enthusiasts can go and find great information for people our age! That is what this blog is about and I want to take a step further and really use this blog as a way to track my progress because within the next year and a half, one of my goals is to compete. I wrote earlier, I was in good shape when I was younger but I was never ripped, I never had a six pack or a body to be proud of, now is the time to make those changes and be better because remember AGE IS JUST A NUMBER.
